Vincent 1997

3D & MOTION – Exploring storytelling of the past

Vincent 1997 is a project exploring the visual identity of late 90’s-early 2000’s gaming consoles.

The “Vincent 1997” concept began as a drawing, made to accommodate a drum & bass track inspired by PS1 soundtracks from games such as Bomberman, Breath of Fire IV, and Street Fighter 3rd Strike. The scenes I created take heavy inspiration from Sephiroth cinematics featured in the Final Fantasy VII remake.

This project pushed me to learn how to use Blender for the first time and managed to make these first few scenes with half a month’s practice. I plan to keep this an ongoing project, continuing to explore this style, characters and narrative.

Programs used:
  • Blender
  • Adobe After Effects
